Rick launched his YouTube channel, Rick Beato, in 2015. His first video featured his Dylan who was able to pick notes in complex cords with ease. The video went viral, which sparked Rick to grow his channel from there. His videos cover music technique (guitar and piano), producing, music theory, instrument tutorials, pitch education and many other music-related topics. A popular series on his channel is What Makes This Song Great, where he breaks down the essence of songs we all know and love. His channel has also featured interviews with many famous musicians. In 2019, just 4 years after publishing his first video, Rick received YouTube’s Golden Play Button award for reaching 1 million subscribers. Off the back of his online success, Rick has published The Beato Book and has a line of merchandise which he sells from his website.
