“Oh Holy Night” – New Life Mens Trio – YouTube

The classic Christmas hymn, Oh Holy Night, performed by Mike Nichols, Curtis Moore and Jeff Foster, December 7, 2019, at the Annual Women’s Dinner @ New Life Community Church, Nashville Indiana. http://www.newlifecc.org

We had only one rehearsal of the tune prior to this performance. It isn’t a technically perfect rendition by any means, but it’s a heartfelt joyful sound nonetheless that was very well received by the folks in attendance. We later reprised the tune at the Christmas Eve service… we were a little tighter for that one.

Special thanks to brother Mike Nichols for traveling to our church and once again blessing our Christmas celebrations with his astounding voice and ministry.

Plans are afoot to bring the men into my studio and do a proper recording of this wonderful tune. Stay tuned for developments.

O Holy Night” (French: “Minuit, chretiens” or “Cantique de Noël”) is a well-known Christmas carol composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847 to the French poem “Minuit, chrétiens” (Midnight, Christians) written by wine merchant and poet Placide Cappeau (1808–1877).

In both the French original and the English version of the carol, as well as in many other languages, the text reflects on the birth of Jesus as humanity’s redemption.
