Solo Guitar – the perfect music for your nuptials!
Every wedding needs beautiful, inspiring music to set the mood and celebrate this most significant life event. Guitarist Jeff Foster has provided the music for hundreds of weddings over the years, and they remain among his favorite gigs to play. A classical guitar provides not only the perfect ambiance for your wedding, but also the most cost-effective live wedding music solution.
Whether you want a traditional mix of classical wedding tunes kicking off with “Here Comes The Bride”*, a more modern set of popular melodies, or something totally alternative and unique, Jeff can put together the ideal playlist for your wedding event.
Adept at all styles of music, Jeff will coordinate with you and your wedding planners to find just the right tunes (including “our song” that every couple has) to provide the perfect musical backdrop for your nuptials. If you wish, you can simply describe in broad terms the “feel” you want at the wedding, and Jeff will come up with an ideal set of tunes.
Foster & Dutton
Foster often teams up with his friend, Brown County violinist Carolyn Dutton, for wedding gigs. A professional violinist in New York City for over three decades before relocating to Brown County, and widely known and respected for her mastery of the instrument, “the Duchess” (as Jeff likes to call her) can play anything, period. She and Jeff have worked together in several bands over the years, including Foster Jones, Celtica, Acoustic Mayhem, and others. Their easy camaraderie is evident when you see them perform.
The advantages of the guitar/violin combination are many. The whole is indeed greater than the sum of its parts, and the costs of a duo compared to larger ensembles is significantly lower.
Technical Requirements & Sound
Setup at your wedding event can be quite simple and supremely intimate. Jeff’s BOSE Compact sound system is all that’s required for the vast majority of services. For small chapels or in-house ceremonies, the music can even be performed unplugged (no amplification required).
Hearing the exchange of vows is sometimes difficult, especially at outdoor weddings. For a modest additional fee, Jeff will provide a microphone and mic stand at the altar, connected to his sound system, so that those in attendance can catch every word of this meaningful event.
