In the house of Andrés Segovia (1967) – YouTube

No other guitarist in history has had such a profound influence on his instrument. Andrés Segovia single-handedly elevated the guitar from its dismissal as “a vulgar gypsy instrument” to the world’s most popular one, capable of performing not only all traditional styles of music, but indispensable to several others. It is no exaggeration to say that every guitarist from the beginning of the 20th century owes a debt of gratitude to Segovia.

At Los Olivos: The Song of the Guitar is a loving, respectful excursion into the life and career of this extraordinary artist.
