OK, it’s a book review, but it does touch on some very pertinent points made by the author of the book. The take-away for folks unfamiliar with the concept of habeas corpus is this: there is NO Constitutional right to it, it is considered a privilege bestowed by the feds that can be revoked when it serves their ends. Habeas corpus is generally understood as the legal right not to be detained arbitrarily by the government.
