“A Boy They Call Lonesome” by Sam Collins

My buddy Sam Collins is back with another tune from the Millennium Sessions, written for Sam in the early 60s by Nashville TN country music artist, Jimmie Skinner. As Sam puts it, “Jimmie was my friend… and he knew me, he knew my life. Jimmie wrote a song of my life”. It doesn’t get more real than this!

Sam recorded a good deal back in his days in Tennessee, but once back in Indiana, he never recorded again… until, that is, he and I started with one tune “Suppertime”, his mom’s favorite song. That one-off recording session grew into an ongoing project I call the Millennium Sessions – recordings by Sam Collins captured in the new millennium.
