Rancourt and Company Shoecrafters: Made in Maine – Manufacturing Documentary

I find watching videos of excellent craftsmanship very relaxing. Whether it’s watching a master luthier building a guitar, or a homesteader demonstrating his skills, or gardeners planting, tending, harvesting and preserving their crops, or listening to the growl of a chainsaw as a woodsman drops a tree with pinpoint accuracy, the act of observing high levels of competence is enthralling to me.

Can’t say as I’ve ever observed the painstaking process of handcrafting a quality leather shoe before, but I have now. Maybe this video will help you unwind a bit. God knows we all need to these daze!

Rancourt and Company Shoecrafters is an American made shoe company based in Lewiston, Maine. They specialize in the handsewn moccasin. In this documentary, I take you through the manufacturing process of making one of their best sellers, the Beefroll Penny Loafer in Horween’s Natural Chromexcel.

The craftsmanship of American business is impeccable and should be more appreciated. Take the time to get to know the businesses in your backyard and show support for your friends, family, and neighbors who are working to provide you with a top quality product. It’s worth the time and investment. What is more important than supporting the people around you? It makes everyone’s life a little easier. Enjoy!
